Tetracore CNG Seeks Partnership with Edo Government on Eco-Friendly Energy Corridor

Tetracore CNG, a subsidiary of Tetracore Energy Group Limited, has expressed interest in partnering with the Edo State Government through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement aimed at positioning the state as an eco-friendly energy corridor.

According to the company, Edo State is strategically positioned to support the initiative through favorable policies and logistical frameworks, given that it currently has the highest number of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles in Nigeria. Under the proposed arrangement, Tetracore CNG will provide the capital investment, while the state government stands to benefit from significant fuel cost savings on its official fleet, as well as job creation for its citizens.

Tetracore Energy Group operates across both the upstream and downstream sectors of the natural gas industry and is committed to driving Nigeria’s transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy sources.

The meeting, which held at the Conference Room of the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Business, Trade and Investment (MBTI), had in attendance the Honourable Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Honourable Omoh Anabor; the Honourable Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Barr. Vincent Osa Uwadiae;

the Special Adviser to the Governor on Finance, Investment and Revenue, Mr. Kizito Okpebholo;

Permanent Secretaries of both ministries, Mrs. Felicia Edokpolor and Mrs. Idonijie Mojisola from oil and Gas ; and representatives of Tetracore Energy Group, including Mr. Masud Abdulmujeed Akajewole, Assistant Manager, Gas Downstream and Virtual Pipeline (GDVP), and Mr. Oladele Alani, Head, Contract Management. Officials from the Edo State Investment Promotion Office(ESIPO)and management staff of the ministries were also present.

In his remarks, Honourable Omoh Anabor commended Tetracore Energy Group for identifying Edo State as a strategic partner in advancing clean energy solutions. He noted that the state government is committed to exploring sustainable energy alternatives that will reduce carbon emissions, promote economic efficiency, and strengthen energy security.

He further disclosed that a steering technical committee would be constituted to review the proposal holistically and develop a detailed implementation framework to drive the partnership effectively.

Also speaking, Honourable Barr. Vincent Osa Uwadiae, Commissioner for Oil and Gas, commended the initiative and inquired about Tetracore’s plans for gas distribution and supply infrastructure across the state. He emphasized the need for a sustainable model that would ensure accessibility and affordability of CNG for both government and private users.
