As part of the Administration of Mr. Governor’s strategic plan to inculcate cooperative tenets and principles in undergraduates, the Edo State Government, through the Ministry of Business, Trade and Investments, has successfully conducted the Maiden Edition of the Cooperative Grassroots Sensitization Programme.
The programme was held simultaneously across the three Senatorial Districts on 13th November 2025, focusing on educating students on Cooperative Values and Principles, as well as exposing them to the numerous career opportunities within the Cooperative Ecosystem.
The Honourable Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investments, Hon. Commissioner Anabor, commended the initiative and emphasized the importance of equipping young people with cooperative knowledge that will empower them to contribute meaningfully to sustainable socio-economic development.
Importantly, the successful execution of this assignment was coordinated by the Cooperative Department, under the leadership of the Director of Cooperatives, Mrs. Enoma Efeomo, whose team ensured seamless delivery across all three Senatorial Districts.
Participants expressed immense joy and gratitude for the impactful session. Many requested that subsequent editions be brought back to their respective institutions, noting the relevance and clarity the programme brought to their understanding of cooperative structures.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperative education and fostering a new generation of economically empowered youths across Edo State.
