As part of plans towards ensuring a successful trade fair, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Energy Services Limited(NNPC-Enserve) has commended the Edo State government for providing an enabling environment for business to thrive and promised a robust partnership in the forth coming Edo Mega Trade fair.
The commendation came when the Honourable Commissioner in the Ministry of Business Trade and Cooperatives, Hon.
Patrick Irria Uanseru led some Management staff of the Ministry to pay a courtesy call on the management of NNPC-Enserve Ltd.
According to the commissioner, the visit was “two pronged. Firstly, to appreciate your presence in the state as, a, business entity, and MTBC being the mother hen that cares for call the businesses in the state, will want to know how you’re fairing and to know how far our hospitality has been to your company.
“Secondly, we are planning an Edo State mega trade fair on the third week of August at the Garrick memorial field on Ekenwan Road for on thec16th to 25th of August, 2024.
” With the theme, PROMOTING TRADE, CREATING WEALTH, THROUGH LINKAGES.
“The Government has mandated us as the name implies MEGA to really make it a mega trade fair. That is why we are seeking collaboration with Mega companies like yours to support us.
“At this time of our economy the only way to stimulate the economy is to encourage both large, small and medium businesses to thrive to meet, to connect and to interact. The fair is MEGA because encompasses gas, solid minerals, agriculture, tech etc.
It is not a government sponsored program, but it is government organised, though we seek private and other entities to collaborate and support us”.
The commissioner, while presenting the letter , appealed to the management that, all beaureacratic bottlenecks that might delay response from the company be minimized as the ministry put high hopes on the company.
Responding , the Managing Director, Sophia .A. Mbakwe, who was represented by Mrs. Matina Atuche, Executive Director(Business Services) in company of other management staff of NNPC-Enserve, while receiving the Commissioner’s team, on behalf of the Managing Director, expressed delight, adding that such visit, means a lot to them because it shows that the government recognises their activities in the state.
“We are glad that you want this collaboration. Edo is good to us, we relate very well with the our host community , we must thank the state for her hospitality. In Oko community, we work as, a family.
” Anything that touches us touches them.
“Edo is our home, anything that will move Edo State forward will also move our company forward.
” The assurance I can give you, is that we will support this project. The mandate given to me is to come and receive you. We’re a service company, we’re not producing; we will support with our “widow’s mite”
On the commissioner’s entourage were some top management staff including, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. B. J Igbinibaro, and Mr. Joel Edionwe ,retired Permanent Secretary now a consultant to Edo State government.
In his closing remarks, Mr. John Lehu, Lead Corporate Communications, while expressing delight also said, that, the host community is at peace with them, as their operation is moving without any hitch. He reassured of the company’s support for the Mega Trade fair.
